Summer Workshops
 Jan. 22nd to March 4th

Sometimes the best kind of holiday is when you become absorbed in doing something creative.

At Okuti Garden we have set up a drop-in workshop for you to use while you’re staying with us. We have a green woodworking area suitable for doing small projects like making stools, bowls, spoons etc. using mainly hand tools. And we have a small pottery where you can make pots and other clay creations.

We think that becoming engrossed in the gentle processes of working with wood or clay can be a great way to relax and give yourself a real break from the usual day-to-day stuff. (Unless, of course, you happen to be a traditional woodworker or potter!)

Our workshops will be open all day from Jan. 22nd to March 4th, 2026. Between 10am and 12pm most days, there will be someone on hand to give you some guidance, demonstrate techniques and help you with your projects.

Children are welcome in the workshops but only to use equipment that is appropriate to their age and experience. Everyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or other adult at all times.

Some basic materials will be free for you to use. Others - such as clay and wood and some art materials - will be available for you to buy.

The minimum booking is for two nights. If you can stay at Okuti Garden for a few days, you’ll give yourself time to really get stuck in, as well as time to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Garden and time to explore the beautiful Peninsula.

Please get in touch via our contact form if you want to know more about this.  Tell us what kind of creative stuff you'd like to do - woodwork, pottery, other?
